Building New Gravity
Building New Gravity 🌌
As Product Managers, we need to stop going in circles and start building new gravity.
🚦 The Illusion of Productivity
Many of our roadmaps look productive, but they’re really just repeating the same ideas:
- âś… A better UI
- âś… Smoother onboarding
- âś… Small growth wins
But here’s the thing:
If we don’t break out of our old way of thinking, we won’t reach new outcomes.
To go somewhere new, we have to do something different.
🚫 What Doesn’t Build Breakthrough Products
We don’t build breakthrough products by:
- Running tighter standups
- Reordering the backlog
- Tweaking the same KPIs
âś… What Does Build Breakthrough Products
We do build them by:
- Asking tougher, deeper questions
- Designing for where we want to go — not just where we are
- Focusing on real impact, not just shipping faster
🛠️ Changing the Route
Our job is not just keeping the roadmap running. We should know when it’s time to change the route:
- Stop building features that no longer matter
- Challenge goals that feel too safe
- Help users discover new ways, not just smoother ones
🌍 Closing Thought
So next time, let’s ask ourselves:
Are we orbiting legacy value? Or building gravity for what’s next?
